Featuring Indonesia: The next destination for the global TB dialogue

Indonesia is set to become the centre of global discussions on tuberculosis and lung health as this year’s The Union World Conference on Lung Health is going to be held in Bali, Indonesia from 12-16 November 2024. This event celebrated as #UnionConf2024, will be organised in collaboration with the Government of Indonesia and will bring together experts in lung health around the globe to share knowledge, insights, and innovations in the fight against tuberculosis and lung diseases.

Indonesia has been consistently committed to tackling the challenges in TB diagnosis and treatment. Through the TB-PPM learning network, a live feed under the heading of PPM Do More has been maintained to feature the current works of stakeholders to alleviate the burden of TB in Indonesia, which ranks second for TB burden globally. This initiative covers diverse topics ranging from assessing the gap in TB treatment, coaching on TB care quality in healthcare facilities, the role of big chain hospitals, aligning Military and Police Health Facilities to strengthen TB care, highlighting the optimisation of District Public Private Mix to increase access, building capacity and more.

As Indonesia prepares to host #UnionConf2024 in November 2024, revisiting critical areas covered in PPM Do More will create a dynamic platform to foster new ideas and strengthen the collective response.
