TB Community organizes in response to USA stop work orders
The US Government is undertaking an evaluation of all foreign assistance programs in accordance with the US President’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid. During this evaluation, many TB organizations, community organizations and survivor networks are unable to access funding and are unable to work.

The TB community has come together to develop a survey for gathering information about the impact of USA “Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid Stop Work Orders” and funding freezes on the TB response. Sharing a first glimpse of incoming data showing devastating impact “The stop work order has resulted in our organisation stopping all its activities which meant that communities were left hanging and confused. No more active finding, awareness raising, contact tracing, treatments support, and advocacy activities are being done. Our greatest fear is that when and if funding resumes, we maybe at a far worse situation than we were left by COVID-19 - respondent”

A Stop TB Partnership Campaign to Sustain TB Survivor Networks and Local Community Organizations
To support many local tuberculosis (TB) community organizations and survivor networks that are now unable to access funding and are unable to work, the Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with TB-affected communities, is launching the "Keep the Lights On" campaign.
This urgent fundraising initiative aims to sustain TB survivor networks and local community organizations previously supported by the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) and country-level Stop TB Partnership platform grants. These groups now face a crisis due to the unexpected funding halt.
Fundraising Goal: US $3 Million
Through "Keep the Lights On," the Stop TB Partnership aims to raise $3 million to support CFCS Round 12 grantees and country-level TB platforms that have received stop-work orders.
100% of funds raised will go directly to these organizations.
The target amount will provide each grantee with up to $25,000 to sustain operations from February to May 2025.
