Crucial role of pharmacies in managing TB at a community level

Today, 25 September, we celebrate all pharmacists around the world. “Pharmacists: Meeting global health needs” is the theme of World Pharmacists Day on 25 September 2024. Join the FIP campaign and share their 2024 campaign messages.

The TBPPM learning network collaborated with the wider community and essential stakeholders involved in pharmacy engagement to develop an infographic that focuses on managing cough related to tuberculosis (TB) (Infographic for Pharmacies). The infographic highlights the fact that pharmacists are a common first point of contact and may play a crucial role in identifying missing TB cases. This infographic also emphasises the role of pharmacists in TB control by identifying symptoms and referring patients for proper TB diagnosis while avoiding inappropriate dispensing of TB medications.
