TBPPM Friday Forum: Why should we address mental health in TB?

October 10th is commemorated as World Mental Health Day. Research has found that although psychological burdens cannot induce the development of TB, they can enforce poor quality of life conditions which can increase the risk of TB or become a major risk factor for non-adherence to treatment. To address this gap in discussion and to stand in solidarity with all the people affected by TB, TBPPM Learning Network wanted to highlight this topic in our Friday Forum and shine a light on the psychosocial aspects related to battling this disease. This report highlights the key discussions points and perspectives of our eminent panel of TB advocates and community leaders, emphasizing the urgent need for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to advocate for empathetic and holistic TB care.
